I graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law and Eastern Illinois University. My profession started out as an Investigator with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, accompanied with the aid of a function as Court Coordinator for Judge William Maki inside the Circuit Court of Cook County, Juvenile Division. I also labored as an associate at a trendy practice regulation office in Arlington Heights, Illinois. From 1996 to 2000, I served as an Assistant Public Guardian in Cook County, wherein I represented abused and overlooked youngsters. In 2000, I joined the Illinois Lawyer Registration and Disciplinary Commission (“ARDC”) as litigation counsel. Since then, I even have investigated and prosecuted masses of cases of lawyer misconduct. I presently keep the placement of Director of Unauthorized Practice of Law Litigation and Senior Counsel at the ARDC, in the main prosecuting cases related to unauthorized practice of law allegations against non-legal professionals and disbarred lawyers.
In 2004, I chaired the Chicago Bar Association’s Government Service Committee, and because 2007, I had been the Chair of that enterprise’s Unauthorized Practice and Multidisciplinary Practice Committee. Since 2009, I had been appointed to the Illinois State Bar Association’s Task Force at the Unauthorized Practice of Law, and I presently serve at the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Client Protection. I was the Chair of the American Bar Association’s 2015 Unauthorized Practice of Law School, schooling lawyers on numerous elements of investigating and prosecuting unauthorized exercise of regulation instances, and I am once more Chairing the identical software for 2017. Additionally, I am the Chair of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association’s Ethics Committee. Lastly, I am an Adjunct Professor teaching expert duty.
