I joined Her Justice in 2008 and currently have the duty of operating along a dedicated group that includes workforce lawyers, pro bono coordinators, and volunteer legal professionals. Together, we offer recommendation, legal advocacy offerings, and free felony illustration to economically disadvantaged ladies in New York City. Our attention regions encompass matrimonial, family regulation, and immigration claims underneath the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). My role mainly entails education and mentoring round 90 volunteer lawyers from over 20 law places of work on managing immigration cases with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), developing litigation strategies, and staying up to date with modifications in law and criminal processes. Additionally, I develop and implement Continuing Legal Education (CLE) training programs for these volunteers, without delay constitute 10-20 in-house customers on immigration subjects, control a caseload of 50-60 clients searching for unfastened illustration and recommendation, and collaborate with advocates and other network-based totally agencies to offer comprehensive legal and social services to our customers.

After graduating from regulation faculty, I become an Equal Justice Works Fellow at the Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center in Washington D.C. Before becoming a member of Her Justice, I served because the Supervising Lawyer at the Courtroom Advocates Project with Sanctuary for Families, Center for Battered Women’s Legal Services. I earned a B.A. in Politics from Pomona College in 1997 and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 2004. I am admitted to practice regulation in New York, Virginia, and California.
